summer vacation is over and it's a school day!!!

well, the day is here!

summer vacation is over and my son started high school today!

he's a freshman...i can't believe this day has come...

he towers over me and steve is playing football at high school...what a change from elementary and junior high...it's been a while since we had a high schooler so batten down the hatches and here we go...

i'm excited for him, but a little sad to see my baby grow up so fast...

we're back!!!

i know it's been a long time since the junk soul sisters have been at a flea market together, but we will definately be back in october...october 4th to be exact! we will be back in our usual spot at ivc flea market ready to see all your smiling faces :)

it's been a difficult summer for me, so i'm ready to get back in the groove of things and back into the routine of school, football and working...

labor day sale at counrty roads...

I finally worked my booth yesterday after being gone for about six weeks and boy did it need a makeover!

Thanks so much for my great husband for helping me carrying in the treasures, and thanks so much to my dear friend, Christilynn, for "fluffing" my booth while i was away...

I took in a lot of new "stuff"...more dressers, night stands, a great old metal tea cart for your end of the summer parties, and a fabulous GIANT chalkboard with a vintage frame that came out of my home, as well as a lot of special treasures for your home and garden...

Country Roads is having a one day only sale on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

vacation time...

we had a great vacation!

we were blessed to be able to stay in a home in kauai and we invited some family members to come along...

other than trying to deal with the sad news of grandpa passing, we had a great time...

we surfed, ate, drank, sunned, read and rested...

we were able to visit some of our favorite places...the shrimp shack, tunnels, tropical taco, the art show in hanapepe, koloa town and poipu beach...

our son and nephew loved the rope swing and jumping off the cliffs at kipu falls...they went back about four times!

it was a great time...thanks stacey, brad and wendy!

goodbye to a loved one...

we suffered a great loss last week...my husbands dad died of a broken heart! we love you grandpa...

he's planning on attending cypress college until he decides what he wants to do when he grows up {do we ever really know what we want to do when we grow up?}.

my booth at country roads...

it's been a long time since i've posted pictures of my booth at country roads...it's been a hectic summer already with our son going into freshman football and having practice everyday, vacations, etc...it's hard to make time for work!

i have to get out and do some shopping!!!

I think in economic times such as these there is a need...willingness...desire? To bring things back to basics. Christilynn aka http://www.thecarriagehouseco.blogspot.com/ and I will be doing just that next weekend as we go back to our roots and have a boutique in the front yard just like the good ol'days.
Because Christilynn no longer lives in the neighborhood that we started having these shows, our friend Laura and CrAzY husband, Dave, have graciously allowed us to take over their yard.
So come by Saturday, July 18th, starting at 8:00 am and going till about 1ish...
