ivc this sunday!!!

after a long, hot summer, christilynn and i are back at the ivc flea market ready to sell and see all those junk soul sisters we've been missing...my husband and i shopped ivc last month and it was booming! there were a lot of familiar faces and a lot of shopping and of course, some great treasures to be found...steve and i left with our van full before hitting the beach!!!

christilynn and i will be in our normal spot...lot 2, row 2, space 3 and we have a lot of new treasures to share and look forward to seeing you all there...it's supposed to be a lovely day, so why not spend it at a flea market!!!

it's official...rachel ashwell is coming to country roads for a book signing in november!!!

yipee!

i just got an email from rachel ashwell and she has re-opened her santa monica store...this might be old news to some of you, but not to me...

as a treat to me, my husband usually takes me to santa monica to walk up/down the lovely streets, have lunch and visit my very favorite store on the planet..."shabby chic". now, i guess we can do that again...but this time, i'm visiting "shabby chic couture"...whatever it is, i just love the feeling when i walk into her haven!

but...there's more news...rachel is coming to country roads for a book signing for her new book...she will be there on saturday, november 14th, from 12 noon till 2:00 p.m...

i will definately be there!!!

we remember...

i was running around the lake today and there is a monument in rememberance of a girl that was a passenger on one of the planes that went done on that horrible day...9/11

there were flowers, candles and people remembering and crying for their loss...

i stopped right then and prayed for the families that lost loved ones that day...

we will ALWAYS remember...

my son's first day of high school...

well, this day has finally arrived...shannan's first day of high school!!!

it's our family tradition to take pictures of the kids on their first day of school...we even have one of stacey on her first day of college...steve took it as she was getting into her car...they think they are too old for pictures on their "firsts" but we parents are all the same...we NEED those pictures of our kids "firsts"...

summer vacation is over and it's a school day!!!

well, the day is here!

summer vacation is over and my son started high school today!

he's a freshman...i can't believe this day has come...

he towers over me and steve is playing football at high school...what a change from elementary and junior high...it's been a while since we had a high schooler so batten down the hatches and here we go...

i'm excited for him, but a little sad to see my baby grow up so fast...

we're back!!!

i know it's been a long time since the junk soul sisters have been at a flea market together, but we will definately be back in october...october 4th to be exact! we will be back in our usual spot at ivc flea market ready to see all your smiling faces :)

it's been a difficult summer for me, so i'm ready to get back in the groove of things and back into the routine of school, football and working...

I finally worked my booth yesterday after being gone for about six weeks and boy did it need a makeover!

Thanks so much for my great husband for helping me carrying in the treasures, and thanks so much to my dear friend, Christilynn, for "fluffing" my booth while i was away...

I took in a lot of new "stuff"...more dressers, night stands, a great old metal tea cart for your end of the summer parties, and a fabulous GIANT chalkboard with a vintage frame that came out of my home, as well as a lot of special treasures for your home and garden...
